About Us

Hello.

I started this journey in 2020 as we entered that dreaded lockdown period. I was frustrated with getting wet everyday riding out, there were a lot of nice "waterproof" riding out trousers on the market but none were keeping us dry for the hours we were doing. It's a big ask to stay dry from 7am-3pm I guess!

So I went in search of a company to partner with who had all the expertise in waterproof workwear. And I found Stormline...

-------

Stormline, founded in 1966 manufactures a variety of professional rain gear and recreational wet weather gear. As a family-owned business, Stormline was established with traditional values and an emphasis on quality and innovation. This helped build strong relationships with commercial fishermen and professionals as they favoured Stormline’s specially designed gear, which improves comfort and safety.

Based in New Zealand, Stormline has produced equipment that has been tested all over the world in some of the harshest weather conditions. This has helped us continually improve and develop our products to manufacture an increasingly high standard of equipment. Graeme McMillan, our Managing Director, has a background as a Structural Engineer, allowing him to play a crucial role in the world-leading designs of our products.

And I persuaded them to help me create a pair of riding out waterproofs, we tried and tested multiple different materials, with our team of hard working riders putting them through every storm over the past 5 years until we found the right one.

My key mission is to keep us workers dry, horses are hard enough without doing it in wet pants! With plenty of feedback from riders, they also wanted to be smart and therefore the baggy farming trousers we'd turned to in desperation weren't cutting it.

We're delighted with the material and design of the trousers, but most importantly we've tested them rigorously and they've held up to our mission! We hope a matching jacket won't be too far away, so stay tuned the design is in progress.

Why Lalors? Our store is named after a horse but not just any horse, he is a former racehorse who was at the centre of the worst storm in my life and yet brought the brightest rainbows through it all. He was a champion on the track trained by my sister, Kayley Woollacott, winning a Grade 1 and two Grade 2s. He is still with us, and helping me ride the storm of life.

Please follow us on social media @_lalors and send us reviews or feedback. We'd love to see all the hardworking riders in our trousers.
